The general overseer of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC), Pastor Mensah Otabil has swiftly responded to social media uproar over the church’s “Special Offering” and its corresponding blessings saga.

Ghanaians expressed their anger, outrage and shock over Wednesday's edition of ICGC’s 2017 Greater Workers Conference when the church announced that the congregation should pay special offering for one blessing or the other.

Public sentiments seem to suggest that the act by the church is discriminatory, fraudulent, and above all un-Christ like.

But a video that is making rounds on social media shows Dr Mensah Otabil telling a congregation that Christian belief defies logic.

"Believe goes beyond logic. Logic would tell you that if you have a GHC1000 in your account then you can spend a GHC1000 because that is logical. Believe would tell you that if you have five loads of bread, you don’t feed five people. Believe would tell you that if you have five loaves of bread, you can feed 5,000. That’s not logical," he said in the video.

Pastor Otabil therefore urged the gathering to have faith beyond the logical. “All things are possible, so you are going to believe according to what is written that all things are possible.”
