Owusu Bempah addresses Otumfuo backlash
In a video seen by YEN.com.gh, Reverend Owusu Bempah addressed the controversy during a sermon.
He spoke about his visit to Otumfuo and explained how it came about.
“We went to visit the Otumfuor, the king who sits upon gold. At his palace, I was ushered inside and then into an inner room where he was seated alone in majesty. And when you see him, you immediately know he is a king who commands power and respect.” Owusu Bempah said.
He said Otumfuo’s aura made it clear he was a powerful king who demanded the utmost level of respect.
The preacher added that the respect and reverence he received at Manhyia Palace made him realise that the negative opinions certain people share about him online are irrelevant.

"He is rather wise, humble, and respects protocols in the spirit and in the constitution of our maker. You need to bow to the elderly, who can be your father or guardian. Nigerian women bow to their men in certain tribes when they are getting married. Have you ever wondered why?"
papa_kofi said:
"Traditions and customs were in existence before the introduction of the Bible, Quran, etc. Otumfuo's palace is full of culture, tradition, and customs. No religion is practised there. One should be mindful of going to the Otumfuo in his Palace. We don't mix religion with Traditions and Customs. You either take it or leave it."

"I asked the same question somewhere. Bowing and kneeling, I think it’s different from showing respect."
