The news of the Radio Gold mid-morning show host was announced by his colleague and former actor, Henry Kodjo Agbai, on Sunday, September 28, 2025.

The cause of Okyeame Ayensu Badweneba's demise is unknown, but reports indicate that he had been battling some health issues that had seen him on and off the air in recent months.

According to Henry Kodjo Agbai, his colleague was set to celebrate his birthday on Monday, September 29, 2025, before he met his untimely demise.

In a post on his official Facebook page, he shared that he had a conversation with Okyeame Ayensu Badweneba on Friday, September 26, 2025, before receiving the news of his demise over the weekend.

He also eulogised the late radio presenter with an emotional tribute, praising his professionalism in the media space.

"Tomorrow would have been his birthday…but he’s gone…🥲. We chatted on Friday briefly….that was to be the last time…rest well, Soldier…You were a true professional and a consummate presenter… So teach us to number our days…so we may gain a heart of wisdom…🥲."

Rumours of the veteran media personality's reported demise emerged on Saturday, September 20, 2025, with some of his colleagues, including Edem Mensah-Tsotorme, later confirming the unfortunate news on social media.

The cause of his sudden demise is unknown, with some reports claiming that he had been battling an illness.
