On Thursday, April 2, 2026, the wealthy Ghanaian businessman, popularly known as Cheddar, showed off the newly established facility for his controversial tigers.

The event followed a ruling by the Accra High Court, which granted the Forestry Commission permission to seize the animals from his possession.

Speaking during the event, Nana Kwame Bediako said he envisioned setting up a zoo to properly house the tigers, but would need help from authorities to expand it to suit his vision.

“We have started construction of the zoo. If you see what I'm currently working on, it's small and doesn't meet the vision I expect. That's why we are in discussion with the Forestry Commission to expand this to support the country, the government, the nation, and the private sector, and the government coming together to work together for the benefit of the nation,” he said.

Nana Kwame Bediako also showed off the pens holding the tigers.
