The body produced an unpleasant stench which drew the attention of passersby.
Speaking with YEN.com.gh in an interview, the Apowa Assemblyman, Pastor Elvis Yeboah, said the dead body of a man believed to be in his 30s had been dragged and dumped in the area for days, based on the odour that hit residents who used the path.

“From what I gathered, the body has been here for about 5 days. The deceased was struck with two blocks that were seen close to the dumping site several times before being dragged to a location where it was found”, he said.
Yeboah added that the body was seen only in boxer shorts in the early hours of Friday, September 12, 2025, with parts of it absent - the tongue and eyes were removed, and a portion of the head close to the right ear was opened.
The Environmental Protection Agency team, upon arrival at the scene together with the police, immediately directed that it be buried after some rituals were performed by the traditional authority in the area.
The second person met his untimely death after community youths had gone to the rescue of a lady being strangled to death by him. He died minutes after being subjected to constant beatings by the youths.
According to an eyewitness whose name is being withheld, while she was freshening up near the dump site, she saw the deceased strangle a lady while he dragged her to a football park close to where she squats on the rubbish site.
She said that while the lady was being dragged, she heard her plead for her life,
“Please spare my life. Who has paid you to take my life? Why are you doing this? Please let me live”.
She reportedly said this while shouting for help.
The lady whose identity is yet to be disclosed had gone to the dumping site to empty her trash. She suffered bruises as a result of being dragged.
The second dead body is being deposited at the Effiankwanta Regional Hospital morgue by the police, who are yet to make an official statement.
