Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings, the wife of former President Jerry John Rawlings, was one of several high-profile guests who graced the Asantehmaa's funeral on September 18, 2025.

It was the last day of the four-day dote yie for the matriarch, who died in August 2025. This is a royal burial ceremony held for the Asante royal leaders.
The Rawlings family in attendance were Nana Konadu Agyeman, the mother and two of her children, including Kimathi Rawlings.
In a video sighted by YEN.com.gh, Kimathi, who recently got married, was seen accompanying his mother to her seat.

The Rawlings family commiserate with Otumfuo
When it was time for the Rawlings family to see Otumfuo, Kimathi led the way. Keeping his mum and sister close, the family walked to Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.
His mother went first, bowing before the Asante monarch drew her in for a hug, depicting his fondness for Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings, who is believed to be a member of the royal family.
Kimathi went next, and his sister followed. Otumfuo conversed with them and seemed to have enjoyed their company.
The Rawlings' is one of the most influential families in the country, thanks to the former president Jerry John Rawlings' legacy in Ghanaian politics.
Five years after he died in 2020, the former President's name remains relevant, and his family is still widely revered by Ghanaians.

Kimathi Rawlings marries his white fiancée
Earlier, YEN.com.gh reported Kimathi Rawlings had tied the knot with a white lady in a private ceremony with only friends and family attending.
The son of former Ghanaian President JJ Rawlings wore a white Agbada while his wife, who appears to be white, opted for a stylish wedding gown.
