GMet Weather Forecast for Friday August 7: Mist, Fog and Slight Rain Expected Across Ghana

The Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMet) has released its weather forecast for Friday, August 7, 2026, warning of mist, fog and isolated rain across several parts of the country, with rough sea conditions also anticipated along the coast.

GMet noted that early morning mist and fog patches will be widespread over coastal, forest and mountainous zones under mostly cloudy skies.

Cooler-than-usual night and early morning temperatures are expected nationwide.

Mist and rain across southern and coastal Ghana

A large number of towns in the south will experience misty conditions, including Aflao, Ho, Kasoa, Winneba, Cape Coast, Takoradi, Axim, Koforidua, Akim Oda, Kwahu Tafo, Kumasi, Obuasi, Tarkwa and Sefwi Bekwai. Slight rain is forecast specifically for Anloga and Accra during the morning hours.

In the Forest and Transition Zone, Kete Krachi, Atebubu and Kintampo will experience mostly cloudy conditions, while mist is expected in Ejura, Goaso, Sunyani, Techiman and Sampa.

Partly cloudy conditions to prevail in north

Conditions are considerably drier across Northern Ghana. Yendi is forecast to be mostly cloudy, while Tamale, Bole, Damongo, Bolgatanga, Nalerigu, Wa and Jirapa are all expected to see partly cloudy skies throughout the day.

GMet has also flagged rough sea conditions along the Ghanaian coast, urging all maritime operators and fishing communities to take appropriate precautions.

Motorists across the country have been advised to drive carefully given the reduced visibility that mist and fog patches typically bring during the early hours.
