Johnny says he feels the new rent was too high for what he was getting and is considering moving out.
He added that the rent increase was unjustified because he pays for his meals and occupies only a small bedroom in his parents' house.
"I can rent a studio apartment three or four times the size of my room for a few hundred more, or could rent a room with friends for less than what mum is trying to charge me," he lamented.
Johny plans on moving out
Expressing his disappointment, Johnny mentioned that he rarely interacted with his parents besides when getting off work.
"If I am paying $600 a month I think I would deserve my own spaces around the house also as I would with a landlord," he expressed.
Johnny's decision to move out has upset his mother, but he firmly believes the rent increase was unreasonable.
He reiterated that, based on the turn of events, having a landlord would be a better deal for him.
