She also shed light on the type of business she does with the truck.

“I drive an NQR Isuzu, which carries 8 tonnes. I carry cement, steel and other construction materials. I also do general transportation and even carter for people seeking to move houses.
We have clients all over the country.”

Lydiah disclosed that she gets support and encouragement from traffic officers and fellow truck drivers. However, she admitted that driving long distances was not a walk in the park.

“I once drove from Nairobi to Mombasa and started experiencing stomach pains at Mtito Andei. I think it was a result of sitting for too long.
Long-distance drivers should be respected, especially women.”

Lydiah further noted that she had never been involved in an accident for the two years she drove the truck.

Kenyans were full of praise for her, writing:

@evelynwaithirawambui:

“I salute this wonderful lady.”
