Asaase Radio reported that the petition described Baffoe doing things that were gravely detrimental to the image, unity, and integrity of the NPP.
Key concerns outlined in the petition include the defamation of a senior party member, false allegations against the General Secretary, and the misrepresentation of committee findings.
The party has requested the Disciplinary Committee to conduct a full and impartial inquiry into Baffoe’s conduct and apply appropriate sanctions in line with the party’s constitution.
According to the petition, the party believes ensuring accountability for Baffoe is non-negotiable and critical to safeguarding the party’s unity.
“The leadership remains committed to fairness, discipline, and the protection of the Party’s democratic values,” the General Secretary stressed.
How did Abronye DC respond?
In his response to the summons, Baffoe said he was ready to appear before the disciplinary committee.
The executive also demanded that the proceedings be broadcast live.
Baffoe also accused NPP flagbearer aspirant, Kennedy Agyapong, of being a toxic presence in the party.
Abronye DC's trouble with the law
Baffoe is coming off a month in which he was arrested over offensive conduct conducive to the breach of the peace.
He was arrested on September 8 by armed police personnel who arrested Abronye DC in Accra.
He was then arraigned before the Accra Circuit Court 9 on September 9, where the judge remanded him in custody and ordered him to return on Friday, 12 September 2025.
Upon his return on September 12, however, the presiding judge denied him bail for the second time, remanding him in police custody for another week. He was eventually granted GH¢50,000 bail on September 15.
During his detention, he reportedly declared a hunger strike in protest.
The NPP youth wing marched in protest of perceived state-sponsored harassment.
Addressing the media after the court hearing, the lead counsel for Baffoe, Daniel Mantey Addo, stated that his client's health condition had deteriorated in jail.
