Reports reaching YEN.com.gh indicates that Newcastle United player, Christian Atsu has retired from the senior national team, the Black Stars.

According to our sources, the winger hanged his boots following neglect from the Ghana Football Association Black Stars in recent times.

The 28-year-old has quit international football prematurely and has told coach Charles Kwablan Akonnor he is not available for selection again.

Atsu feels neglected by the Ghana FA after he suffered an injury while playing for the nation at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations held in Egypt.

He was one of the consistent players to have featured for the Black Stars in the last decade.

Christian Atsu made 62 appearances for the Black Stars and scored 10 goals.

YEN.com.gh earlier reported that Christian Atsu, Didier Drogba and Samuel Eto'o Fils have all lashed out the French doctors, who said Africa should be used for the experiment of the treatment of a potential cure for the deadly coronavirus.

There is outrage among the black population in France and the world after two doctors on live television pushed for Africa to be the first place where coronavirus treatments are tested.
