Ruben Amorim will be in Manchester United's dugout for the first time on Sunday when his team faces Ipswich in the Premier League.
The former Sporting CP boss took his first training this week after he was appointed to replace Erik ten Hag.
Ipswich coach Kieran McKenna has fired a warning to Amorim, promising a tough game at Portman Road.
Amorim will be aiming to extend Man United's unbeaten run thanks to Ruud van Nistelrooy. The English giants are unbeaten in the last four matches in all competitions.
McKenna's warning to Amorim
McKenna was a first-team coach at Old Trafford under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Since his appointment in December 2021, he has done wonders at Ipswich. He expects a great game against his former club.
"Sunday, what a game. It's one we're really, really looking forward to, I have to say. Not on a personal connection because I've been at Man United, but as manager of Ipswich Town Football Club, to be on that stage, it's what we've worked so hard for over the last couple of years," he said via Manchester Evening News.
He added that it will be bigger because it is Amorim's first game as coach.
"We're coming off the back of a great game, a great result, and now we've got one of the biggest football clubs in the world coming to our stadium and I think we're going to give them a helluva a game."
Man United last played Ipswich in the Premier League in 2002. The Tractor Boys are coming off their first win this season away at Tottenham Hotspur.
Amorim's warning to players
YEN.com.gh also reported that Amorim fired a warning to five Man United players in his first interview as a coach.
The head coach said Kobbie Mainoo, Alejandro Garnacho, Leny Yoro, Rasmus Hojlund, and Amad Diallo should be ready to perform as expected. Man United fans are excited about the 39-year-old's new team.
How Man United will play under Amorim
YEN.com.gh also reported that Amorim shortly described how Manchester United could play when he takes charge for his first game.
He stressed that he wants his team to play "without fear," meaning we will see a much more attacking style at Old Trafford. Amorim Sporting played a 3-4-2-1 or 3-4-3 formation, which will be unfamiliar to most players.
