What are Golriz Ghahraman's reasons for shoplifting

Ghahraman blamed "completely out-of-character" behaviour on work stress and mental health difficulties in a statement that did not address the particular charges.

"I want to explain my actions, but I'm not trying to justify them. My recent behaviour is consistent with recent occurrences causing an excessive stress response and linked to previously unrecognised trauma, according to the mental health professional I see," Ghahraman stated.

YEN.com.gh understands that it is reasonable for the public to hold its elected officials to the highest standards of conduct.

"I was not successful. Sorry. It's not a behaviour I can explain because it's not rational in any way, and, after medical evaluation, I understand I'm not well," she added.
