Canada Announces Skilled Worker Job Opportunities, Details of Selected Professions Emerge

Canada has sparked excitement following its recent announcement seeking foreign nationals to come and work in the country.
A Facebook post by Canadian Immigration and Citizenship on March 26, however, clarified that the opportunity is for skilled professionals in specific areas to move to Canada under the Express Entry category.

Delving into the details, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) explained on its website that persons with French proficiency stand a high chance of being selected under the initiative.
It also indicated that skilled professionals under the nine job categories are eligible to apply to move to Canada and work.
These include healthcare and social services workers, STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) professionals, trade workers (skilled labour), education professionals, transport workers, and physicians with Canadian experience.
The rest are senior managers with Canadian experience, researchers with Canadian experience, and skilled military recruits.
“Canada is seeking skilled professionals through these Express Entry categories: medical doctors, researchers and senior managers with Canadian work experience, workers with French-language proficiency, health care and social services professionals, tradespersons, educators, professionals in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) occupations, and professionals in transport occupations”, the post read.

"Interesting… you are seeking doctors and researchers from all over the world with Canadian work experience? How so? For instance, a doctor or researcher from Austria, Iran, or South Korea, how are they supposed to have Canadian work experience?"

Canada to impose 5-year visa ban
In a related development, Canada warned foreign travellers to be cautious in their plans to relocate ahead of the 2026 World Cup.
In a statement, the country urged applicants not to trust middlemen with false promises of helping them move abroad.
It added that persons who present fake documents during the application process could face a five-year ban from entering Canada.
