All there is to know about the new beard craze in Ghana today
In Ghana today, 3 in every 4 men have beards and sideburns, and this is a new fashion culture which is gradually taking grounds especially among modern men living in the urban and peri-urban areas of the country.
Interestingly, this new craze has also heated up a wild business for cosmetic dealers who are now cashing in on the culture craze with several products that have the chemical property of growing a beard or sideburns within days or weeks.
Here in Ghana, many women are now choosing the men based on their possession of a hipster beard. Many even attach the possession of a beard with being a 'real man.'

It will surprise you to know that the beard culture, which catching up fast with many Ghanaian men, also has some religious connotations.
Whereas some relate this to a man's virility, others feel the hipster beard exemplifies wisdom, strength, sexual prowess and high social status.

So far, it remains unclear what motivates most Ghanaian men to wear a beard but it is clear that this is now the new 'six packs' that every woman wants to see on the muscular face of her man.
