A former minister of gender, children and social protection, Nana Oye Lithur, has revealed that she embarked on a nutritional routine over a period of two years to lose weight.

While Oye Lithur received lavish praise from Ghanaians for working hard to lose weight and stay fit, her husband, Tony Lithur, rained on her parade when he claimed that the former minister had undergone a procedure abroad to lose weight.

The claim was contained in a divorce suit by Lithur, which was leaked to the public a few months ago.

In the suit which was filed by Tony Lithur in a bid to divorce Oye Lithur, the former made many claims, including that Oye Lithur is a spendthrift, a stingy woman, an abuser who beats her family members and others, and a wife who could not wash clothes.

Aside an explosive claim that Oye Lithur had engaged in extra marital affairs, Tony Lithur also accused her of spending a lot of his money to lose weight abroad.

But in a new post made by the former minister on Instagram, Oye Lithur appeared to reject the assertion that a medical procedure was responsible for her weight loss.

The human rights lawyer revealed that she had been on a weight loss course since 2016, which helped her achieve that body result.

"I promised I would drop few diet and nutrition tips. Over the past two years I have been on vitamin B12 and B6.

"I take one tablet of cod liver oil daily and multivitamins for women. I also select my diet according to my blood group. It worked for me," she wrote on Instagram.

She encouraged people who want to lose weight to get professional advice on the nutrition and medicine required to help their cause.

Oye Lithur and her husband made the headlines some time ago with news about their divorce.

While the heat was on, she appealed to Ghanaians to support her and her family with prayers while they embarked on the divorce journey.

However, it is noteworthy that Nana Oye is still using her married name, Lithur, on social media.
