- A Ghanaian scholar, Dr Daniel Wubah, has been appointed as president of the Millersville University in the US

A Ghanaian scholar and microbiologist, Dr Daniel A. Wubah, has been appointed as the 15th President of Millersville University, Pennsylvania in the United State of America, YEN.com.gh has gathered.

According to information YEN.com.gh from the school's website, Dr Wubah served as Provost and later as Senior Adviser to the President of the Washington and Lee University was sworn into office at a colourful investiture ceremony in the school.

The well-attended ceremony was graced by Ghana’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Martha Pobee.

Madam Pobee's office shared photos from the beautiful inauguration ceremony.

A graduate of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) with a Bachelor of Science Hons in Botany and Dip.Ed. in Education, Dr Wubah earned a Master of Science in Biology from the University of Akron, PhD in Botany from the University of Georgia.

He is the Safohene at Breman Asikuma in the Central Region with the stool name Nana Ofosu Peko III.

Millersville University was founded in 1855 and has the distinction of being Pennsylvania’s first state-owned university.

It offers more than 100 undergraduate and graduate programmes in Education and Human Services; Science and Technology; Humanities and Social Sciences and Adult Learning.

By his inauguration on Thursday, April 18, 2019, Dr Wubah became the 15th president of the school.
