Deborah Vanessa calls for the legalization of cannabis in Africa

Ghanaian singer Sister Derby known in real life as Deborah Vanessa has called for the legalization of cannabis in Africa.

Sister Derby has asked African leaders to ignore all odds and work towards legalizing marijuana in Africa.

According to the 'Uncle Obama' hitmaker, legalizing cannabis which is popularly called in Ghana as 'wee' will make the continent rich.

On Twitter, Sister Derby expressed her opinion about legalization of cannabis in Africa and how Africa can become rich.

"Chale imagine how rich and powerful Africa will be as a continent if we legalise Cannibis? We will take over," she wrote.

The debate of legalization seems to be a divided one since some Ghanaians are for it while others are against it.

However, this is not the first time a Ghanaian celebrity is calling for the commercialization and legalization of cannabis.

The likes of John Dumelo, Lydia Forson, former Narcotics Control Board boss, Akrasi Sarpong among others called for legalization of the plant.

Meanwhile Sister Derby was recently in the news after she hinted that she is dating another man after breaking up with rapper Medikal.

In a tweet sighted by YEN.com.gh, Sister Derby expressed how she misses her man even when she is close to seeing him.
