Police disperse demonstrators with teargas over Dawhenya to Afienya link road

Police officials, on Friday, May 3, 2019, dispersed demonstrators at Dawhenya junction with teargas.

The protestors claimed that a key link road in the area has been neglected for so long, leading to inconveniences.

The residents of Dawhenya in the Ningo Prampram district of the Greater Accra region have complained about the bad nature of the Dawhenya to Afienya link road.

The road is helps people to easily connect from Dawhenya to the Akosombo road, but it is in a deplorable state.

For that reason, the residents organised themselves and blocked the main Aflao road at the Dawhenya junction.

Dailygraphic.com.gh reports that they burnt vehicle tyres on the road and pushed a container onto the middle of the road to block it.

The demonstration resulted in vehicular traffic in the area and the police responded with the firing of the teargas to disperse them.
