BEGINNING OF THE 'BEEF'

On 22nd June, 2019, Medikal posted the cover photo of a song on Instagram and hinted that he will be dropping the song soon titled 'To Whom It May Concern.'

'To Whom It May Concern' got social media buzzing as Medikal jabbed several rappers in the 3:04 minute song.

In the song, the 'How Much' hitmaker bragged and jabbed all rappers who spoke against his claim that he saved rap music from dying four years ago.

The rapper also bragged about his riches, claiming that he is the only Ghanaian rapper who ever entered Ice Box, a US store that sells flashy jewellery.

Fortunately and unfortunately, 'To Whom It May Concern' concerned Strongman who decided to release a reply to Medikal.

On the same day, Strongman released 'Don't Try' which went hay-wire on social media few minutes after its release.

'Don't Try' was a straight reply to Medikal as Strongman claimed he has big body but with a small mind.

Strongman went on to allege that Medikal's riches that he has been bragging about is from 'sakawa'.

He also jabbed Medikal for getting confused because he has seen a lady endowed at the backside as many thought he was talking of Fella Makafui.

Hours after 'Don't Try' was making rounds, Medikal came back with a response as he released 'The Last Burial.'

'The Last Burial' came with more deeper punchlines and this time it was directed solely at Strongman.

Medikal accused Strongman of being ungrateful to Sarkodie, claiming that he told many lies about his former manager.

The 'Ayekoo' hitmaker also said very derogatory words about Strongman and made an allegation against his girlfriend Nana Ama.

The next day, hell broke loose when Strongman came back with a reply song titled 'Immortal.'

'Immortal' was a strong jab at Medikal and his girlfriend Fella Makafui as Strongman made some allegation against Medikal.

Strongman claimed that Medikal is not a good rapper and consequently used some derogatory words against his girlfriend.

END OF 'BEEF'

After Strongman released 'Immortal', Medikal announced that he will be releasing a new song titled 'Drip' at 9pm on June 23, 2019.

Many thought that 'Drip' was going to be a 'diss song' or a reply to Strongman's 'Immortal' but it was not.

'Drip' was a normal single featuring Joey B and Kofi Mole as Medikal did not jab Strongman in his verse.

However, Strongman fulfilled his promise by releasing 'Ups and Down' an hour after Medikal dropped 'Drip.'

'Ups and Down' which featured M.anifest got some punches being thrown at Medikal especially by M.anifest.

M.anifest had an existing 'beef' with Medikal since the AMG rapper jabbed him recently in a tweet.

'Drip' was regarded by many as a normal song, thus Medikal threw in the towel while 'Ups and Down' was regarded as a follow up of 'Immortal.'

Social media users especially those on Twitter contributed largely to the decision concerning the winner of the 'beef.'

Even though celebrities, music lovers and fans got divided over 'beef' therefore took sides, a winner was chosen.

For instance Shatta Wale, Afia Schwarzenegger and co. was all over Twitter routing for Medikal during the 'beef' as they claimed Medikal won.

The likes of actress Yvonne Nelson, TV presenters Gary Al-Smith, Serwaa Amihere, Berla Mundi, Kwame Gyan claimed Strongman won.

A research by YEN.com.gh on Facebook and Twitter however revealed that Strongman won the 'beef.'

Checking on the trends and tweet, many music fans wrote good messages about Strongman for the deep punchlines.

Even though some supported Medikal, a lot of people trolled him as they called him a whack rapper.

Hashtags like #PrayForFella among others popped up on Twitter in relation to Strongman's swipe thrown at her.

Others who claimed Strongman won were of the view that Medikal run away because when everyone thought he would drop another reply, he rather released a song from his EP.

BACKGROUND TO THE 'BEEF'

Just when Ghanaians thought there will be no more 'beef' at least for now, Medikal and Strongman have served Ghanaians with some hot meal full of beef.

Recently, 'beef masters' Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy squashed their long lasting 'beef' so Ghanaians were not ready for this but here it is.

On June 12, 2019, Medikal got social media buzzing with a post on Instagram and and a tweet on Twitter.

After posting a photo of himself on Instagram, Medikal wrote "4 years ago I saved Ghanaian Rap music from dying and I promise to keep it alive."

The words of the Arab Money Gang rapper flared up emotions as some rappers and Ghanaians reacted.

While some fans supported the 'Omo Ada' hitmaker for his claim, others jabbed him as they claim he did nothing to save rap music.

One rapper who stood firm and raised his voice in opposition to Medikal's post of saving rap music was Strongman.

In about three separate interviews, Strongman jabbed Medikal, claiming that he is a whack rapper and should not have made such bold claim.

Strongman in one of the interviews noted that Medikal should not have won VGMA Rapper of the Year but instead it should be him.
