Israel upgrades neonatal units of Kumasi South and Suntreso hospitals (Photos)
- The state of Israel has upgraded neo-natal units estimated to be about 10 years old at the Kumasi South and Suntreso hospitals in the Ashanti region.
- Doctors at the medical facilities have been taken through skills on the management of units and have saved about 700 babies till date
- The minister of health, Kweku Agyemang Manu, has expressed delight about the new development and has pledged to replicate the centres in all parts of the country
Information available suggests that the state of Israel has upgraded 10-year-old neonatal units at the Kumasi South and Suntreso hospitals in the Ashanti region.
YEN.com.gh understands that the move is to help enhance infant delivery and reduce mortality.
Doctors at the facilities, who were trained by Israeli experts, have disclosed that the units have saved about 700 babies.

According to a dailymailgh.com report, medical teams from the Soroka Medical Centre again educated the medical professionals at the hospitals on skill enhancements in the management of units.
The health minister, Kweku Agyemang-Manu and H.E Shani Cooper, the Israeli ambassador to Ghana, Liberia and Sierra Leone, have pledged to continue with the project.

Agyemang-Manu expressed delight at the success of the project and said plans are underway to replicate the model in other health facilities across Ghana.
This, he explained, would be of immense benefit to people living in remote areas in the country.
In other news, John Elliot Hagan’s education at the St. Thomas Aquinas Senior High School came to a halt in June 2002, even though he was a second-year General Arts student.

The prime reason, he revealed was lack of funding to support his education as there was no helper.
He therefore resorted to providing cleaning services as his father has passed on and his mother could barely cater for four boys.
Two years later he secured a job as a cleaner and performed to the admiration of everyone.
