Even though she is not too old, her mark made in the move industry is admired and appreciated by a lot of people.

From movies to television programs to adverts, Nana Ama McBrown has become a household personality in Ghana.

However, not much is known about the ace actress since she has decided to shy away her private life from the media and public.

As she is still in the birthday mood, YEN.com.gh brings to you five facts about Nana Ama McBrown that many of her fans don't know.

1. Born Felicia Ama Agyemang

Nana Ama McBrown was originally called Felicia Ama Agyemang as that was her name during birth.

She got the McBrown because she was adopted by Mr. Kofi McBrown and Madam Betty Obiri Yeboah who was her aunt.

At a young age, her father and mother divorced, forcing her mother to send her and her six other siblings to live with Mr. Kofi McBrown.

Since Mr. McBrown was now the new father of Nana Ama, she decided to change her name and adopt McBrown as her surname which she has been using since.

2. She started acting in 2001

Nana Ama McBrown began her acting career in 2001 after getting accepted as a costumier in a movie crew.

After receiving the call to become the costumier, Nana Ama managed to wow the director, Samuel Nyamekye with her preliminary acting talent.

Few scenes into the movie, the lead character was dropped as Nana Ama was made to play the lead role.

Since getting the first opportunity to star in that movie titled 'That Day', she has paved her way through the ranks in movie acting.

3. Nana Ama is a music writer

Unknown to many, Nana Ama McBrown is a music writer who has written some couple of good songs.

However, the actress failed to explore the music writing aspect of her life, thus defeating the dream of getting her songs recorded.

Even though she has not pursued a music career, Nana Ama McBrown has some few songs still written down.

4. She became popular in the movie Asoreba

After starring in her first movie 'That Day', Nana Ama McBrown went on to get some few movie roles.

She began gaining grounds when she played a role in the popular television series 'Tentacles' which was watched by many Ghanaians.

In 2007, the movie Asoreba, co-starring Agya Koo and Mercy Aseidu, turned Nana Ama into a household name.

Since then, she has slowly built a strong following by releasing a slew of critically acclaimed movies.

5. She is a queen mother

Many Ghanaians do not know that Nana Ama McBrown is a ceremonial queen mother in the Central Region.

Her hard work, determination and decent lifestyle earned her the royal honor of a queen mother of development.

On 15 July 2007, Nana Ama was enthroned as the Nkosuohemaa, meaning the ceremonial queen-mother of development at Assin-Basiako near Assin-Fosu.

She has helped to bring some developmental projects in the area as she is considered a role model to the young ladies.
