- He is currently second in Italy's goal scoring charts behind Lazio's Ciro Immobile who has 26 goals

Lionel Messi has singled out Cristiano Ronaldo for praise following the Juventus star's sensational goal scoring streak.

Ronaldo appeared to have experienced a slump in the opening weeks of the ongoing campaign, before rediscovering his scoring feet in the second half of the season.

The Portuguese ace has found the back of the net in 10 consecutive Serie A matches this season, to take his overall tally to 20 goals.

He is currently second in the league's scoring list behind Lazio's Ciro Immobile who has 26 goals.

But Messi, his supposed football rival is not surprised by the 35-year-old's staggering stats, conceding the Portugal international has made goalscoring his obsession.

"It's normal that he continues to score, he is a predatory striker, he loves to score, any day he plays he will score," Messi told Mundo Deportivo.

"He has many good attributes as a forward and at the minimum he converts," he added.

Meanwhile, Messi has not scored in his last four league matches but has managed to set up six goals for his Barcelona side.

The six-time Ballon d'Or winner is currently boasting of 14 goals across 19 La Liga appearances for Barcelona this season.

Earlier, YEN.com.gh reported that Borussia Dortmund vs Paris Saint Germain Champions League clash has seen Lionel Messi vs Cristiano Ronaldo debate reignited, though in Kylian Mbappe and Erling Haaland.

The World Cup-winning forward and the Norwegian prodigy met for the first time on Tuesday, February 18, at Signal Iduna Park, but it was Haaland who produced the magic moment that put PSG on the brink of UCL exit.

Haaland was unstoppable with his two-goal obligation in the second half, striking in the 67th and 79th minute to leave PSG on the brink of Champions League exit.
