Ghanaians have rubbished calls by the Ghanaian Dancehall King Shatta Wale for President Akufo-Addo to release all prisoners as the country fights to bring the deadly coronavirus under control.
According to Shatta Wale, all prisoners should be released and allowed to go home and made to return after this season of coronavirus passes.
“I think if all social gatherings are banned All prisoners need to come home so that after this season they can go back and continue their sentence ..what do u think lovely people !!!!” “Now police go arrest arm robbers via Whatsapp, they will message u and say “pls come and lock yourself and leave the key on the counter,” Shatta Wale said.
Some comments from social media users and sighted by YEN.com.gh indicated that there is no need for prisoners to be released since they are safer from the coronavirus in prison than when they are released.
In some comments, some Ghanaians said Shatta Wale should rather provide the prisoners with sanitizers and stop calling for their release.
Dede Tetteh said the prisoners are even safer than those of us who have freedom of movement.
Dominic Eagle Nyarko disclosed that the prisoners "are already in a safe zone. Until an infected person enters their yards, they are safer inside."
Obuobi Florence also said Shatta Wale should rather provide the prisoners with sanitizers
Martin Kumordzi also said they are safer in prison
Kwaku Abrokwah said the prison is a home for prisoners.
Shatta Wale is noted for making controversial comments and his recent one happens to be one of them.
YEN.com.gh earlier reported that Shatta Wale shared a photo of himself that appeared like he was flying high in the sky.
In the photo sighted by YEN.com.gh, Shatta Wale is seen in the air after jumping very high from the ground.
The 'Melissa' hitmaker quickly captioned the photo saying "Don’t try this at home .. SM flight mode."
A fan who was surprised about how high Shatta Wale had jumped quickly commented calling Shatta Wale the "Shatta Movement Superman".
