Former president John Dramani Mahama has assured the Chiefs and People of Wa that if he is voted into power, he will provide 250,000 employment opportunities to the youth.

He also said in a bid to improve health care delivery if he is voted back into power, he will provide seed capital to the new Upper West Regional hospital to enable the facility function effectively.

He made these known while speaking to the chiefs and people at the forecourt of the Wa Naa’s Palace as part of his four-day campaign tour of the Upper West Region.

“I will provide 250,000 jobs to the youth spanning from agribusiness, Forestry, construction and artisans among others,” he stated.

Mahama also indicated that he will upgrade the abandoned Wa Municipal Hospital and construct polyclinics across vantage communities to help reduce the congestion at the facility.

For his part, the Overlord of Waala traditional Kingdom, Naa Fuseini Seidu Pelpuo said the era of juicy promises has become a thing of the past and is being replaced by evidenced-based campaigns.

He noted that Ghanaians are now discerning and will make informed decisions based on the track records of the various political parties and politicians.

In other news, Member of Parliament for Assin Central constituency, Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, bared his teeth at former President John Dramani Mahama for saying he would legalise commercial motorbikes, popularly known as Okada.

He said the promise to legalise Okada after he (Mahama) wins the December polls, reveals how visionless the NDC flagbearer is.

According to him, most of the graduates who by no fault of theirs became Okada riders wouldn’t have opted for that if there were better employment opportunities.
