Joe Biden has broken silence on the election results with the former vice president expressing confidence that he will win the presidential poll.

Speaking on Wednesday morning, November 4, the 77-year-old former senator also thanked his supporters for showing massive supports.

Biden is currently leading on the electoral college scoresheet with 224 while Trump is trailing close with 213.

"Keep the faith, we are going to win this. I am optimistic about the outcome, and I am grateful to all my supporters. Thank you, Thank you."

If Biden wins the election, he will become the oldest president in the US history and the fourth head of state to be produced from the Democratic household in recent times.

Earlier, Biden gave his supporters his words, saying he will fight for them "rain or shine."

The 77-year-old gave this assurance on Tuesday, November 3, through a post on Instagram where he commands over 5 million followers.

Biden promised to safeguard the interest of the Americans in the time of delight and turbulence.

Meanwhile, YEN.com.gh reported that there is anxiety in the United State as counting of the election result is still ongoing, with President Donald Trump alleging that votes were still cast after the polls were closed.
