@Hector_Maoto shared his disappointment through a simple post on Twitter. In mid-December 2020, the young man excitedly shared two adorable pictures of himself with his now-ex-bae to the social networking site.
He now quote tweeted that post with: "Forget I ever said a thing. Let’s move!"
His post received hundreds of comments from South African tweeps. While some are asking for more details regarding the break-up, others are trying to console the heartbroken Hector through sweet and positive messages.
Take a look at Hector's tweet below:
Below are just a few of the responses Hector received:
@knifeclika asked:
"Bafo... Did you at least get the phone back?"
@Kagix_ subtly tried to shoot her shot:
"Do you need a shoulder to cry on abhuti? I have two."
@Skatli_20 said:
"I was about to try again, but then again yah no, umjolo is still a pandemic I see. Andizi."
@thabisomashish1 wrote:
"Hard Boyzen, pick yourself up and keep your shoulders high. It was not meant to be. Actually, be grateful it happened 17 days later as opposed to 17 years down the line."
@MulaudziBT tweeted:
"You enjoyed it while it lasted, you didn't deprive yourself joy because of fear of what might happen."
In other relationship news, it was recently reported on South Africans sharing their craziest break-up secrets. South African Twitter users seemed to have no difficulties spilling the tea after the hashtag #DumpedOverPettyThings started trending on Twitter.
Staying true to the theme, locals flooded the timeline with the pettiest reasons why they either dumped or got dumped by someone. While many of the Twitter posts were actually quite sad, a lot of them had tweeps laughing out loud.
Wearing cheap make-up, refusing to give loans, buying the wrong fruit and having bad breath were only a few of the reasons a few relationships were kicked to the curb.
