Gari soakings priced at Ghc145 on hotel's menu

A picture circulating on social media has got people double checking what makes a bowl of gari so special that it cost Ghc145.

This bowl of soaked gari with groundnuts, ice cubes, milk and sliced coconuts is said to be on the menu of a high-end hotel in Accra and has had people calculating how much this same "gari soakings" would cost them if it were home made.

Gari is made from processed cassava and is one of the cheapest and commonest comfort foods in Ghana. It can be eaten with sauces or with milk and sugar.

Will you pay Ghc145 for this classy bowl of gari?
