Dr Victor Bampoe, a former deputy minister of health, has held a party in Accra to celebrate the 50th birthday of his wife, Reverend Doctor Goldamary Mami Naki Akunnorbea Azu-Bampoe.

The party appears to have been held as a surprise for Mrs Azu-Bampoe, with her husband taking to Facebook to celebrate the smooth implementation of the plan.

He wrote that he was happy to have outwitted his wife by "surprising the surpriser".

The party was attended by the friends and family members of the Bampoes.

The CEO of Omni Media, Samuel Attah-Mensah, and former NHIA boss, Sylvester Mensah, Samuel Attah-Mensah, were there to support their friend, Bampoe.

Joyce Bawa Mogtari, the special aide to former president John Mahama, was also there.

Guests excitedly danced to good music as they celebrated the golden jubilee of Mrs Azu-Bampoe.

Bampoe has been sharing pictures of the event on his Facebook page.

Ahead of the party, he posted a heartfelt birthday message about his wife's birthday to Facebook.

"Please help me to wish my BOSS a HAPPY 50th BIRTHDAY...'Rev Dr' Goldamary Mami Naki Akunnorbea Azu-Bampoe...My Boss, My Rock, My 'Ride or Die' partner...Happy Birthday and God bless you," he wrote.
