Popular Ghanaian content creator Osanju Frimpong Elvis, popularly known as Osanju, has sadly passed away.

News of the TikTok personality's demise emerged on social media on Monday, September 1, 2025, with many of his colleagues, including Ama Yeboah and Oheneba Jude, paying tribute.

According to some reports, Osanju passed away at the Komfo Anokye hospital on Sunday, August 31, 2025, after being rushed for medical treatment following his complaints about a headache.

The content creator passed away, five months after his mother, Veronica Frimpong, popularly known as Amonu, was laid to rest at a funeral service attended by many prominent personalities, including Nana Ama McBrown.

Osanju speaks about his battles with cancer

Following his unfortunate demise, a video of Osanju speaking about his long medical health conditions has emerged on social media.

In a past interview with Kumawood movie legend Kwaku Manu, the content creator shared that he had been diagnosed with Chronic myeloid leukaemia for over five years.

However, his late mother only got to know about his cancer diagnosis in 2023 after he opened up about his severe medical condition on TikTok.

He noted that he was on the verge of losing his battle to the severe illness until he decided to venture into creating content on TikTok.

The late Osanju said his desire to become a TikToker helped him cope with loneliness and the fear of an early demise amid his health woes.

In the past, the TikToker had also spoken about the support he had received from benevolent individuals in funding his medical treatment at the Komfo Hospital after becoming a popular figure and creating awareness on social media.

Physician reacts to Osanju's leukemia diagnosis

YEN.com.gh contacted physician assistant Antwi Calvary to provide insight into the illness, addressing questions about Osanju’s sudden death despite appearing strong and healthy just hours before he passed away.

"There are five types of leukemia. People with leukemia usually live for up to five years; however, those who live past five years have the possibility of surviving the illness."
"When you are suffering from leukemia, blood transfusions are often necessary. If he were a Jehovah's Witness, he may have refused a blood transfusion, though I cannot confirm whether that was the case."
"It is possible that a blood clot led to a Vascular blockage. When a clot forms near the heart, the chances of survival are low. Leukemia can also lead to blood infections, as it essentially affects the body’s ability to fight illness."

Osanju's final TikTok post emerges after death

Earlier, YEN.com.gh reported that Osanju's final TikTok post went viral on social media after news of his death emerged on Monday, September 1, 2025.

In the video, the popular content creator expressed his frustration over his favourite club, FC Barcelona's abysmal performance against Rayo Vallecano in a La Liga fixture played on Sunday, August 31, 2025.

Many Ghanaians flooded the comment section of Osanju's TikTok video to mourn his demise.
