A disturbing video showing the moment some residents rescued former Ghana’s Most Beautiful contestant Ohemaa Sappama Angela from a potential mob attack has surfaced online.

Ohemaa, who represented the Bono East Region in the 2023 edition of the TV3 pageant, was reportedly accused of stealing clothes from a shop in Old Tafo, Kumasi.

The allegation attracted several people to the front of the shop, where the former beauty queen was being held. The circumstances surrounding the accusation and how she allegedly came into possession of the clothes remain unclear.

Residents protect GMB contestant

In the viral footage, some residents, including men and women, could be seen surrounding Ohemaa and trying to move her away from the increasingly agitated crowd.

As they tried to move her to safety, someone pulled her wig off. Someone in the crowd also appeared to strike her on the head amid the confusion.

Those protecting Ohemaa continued to shield her and firmly pushed their way through the gathering. Despite the noise and commotion, they successfully removed her from the immediate danger and prevented further attacks.

Ohemaa looked distressed as she was led away, while several people followed and recorded the incident with their mobile phones.

Video sparks public reactions

The footage has generated attention on social media, with many people expressing concern about the physical treatment she received.

Some viewers praised the residents who intervened, noting that a person accused of an offence should be handed over to the police instead of being attacked by a crowd.

As of the time of publication, the police had not publicly confirmed the reported theft or announced any formal charge against Ohemaa. She has also not publicly responded to the allegation.

2023 GMB's Ohemaa rocks a stylish dress

Earlier, YEN.com.gh reported that Ohemaa, the Bono East representative for the 2023 Ghana's Most Beautiful pageant, was one of the stylish ladies' houses.

After being kicked out of the famous pageant on August 27, 2023, the style influencer revealed her bare face.

Ohemaa had previously participated in the Miss Hot Legs competition but had not won the title or any other awards.
