Speaking about her exit from the Kumawood film industry, Anastasia Owusu stated that she could not fully focus on her education due to her career.

She noted that she left Mercy Asiedu's residence to stay with her grandmother and no longer had any connection with her or the other Kumawood movie stars.

Anastasia Owusu also stated that her father was also against her acting career because it conflicted with her education at Wesco Practice School (Annex) in the Ashanti Region of Ghana.

She said:

"My father was against me pursuing my acting career. He was okay with me being with Mercy Asiedu until I came to stay with my grandmother. He didn't allow them to take me along on set when I was with my grandmother. He only wanted me to go to school."

The former child actress noted that she later went on to complete her secondary at Juaben Senior High School (SHS).

Anastasia Owusu noted she lost contact with many Kumawood actors and was unable to reach any of them. She mentioned that she only heard from a movie director, with whom she had worked before cutting ties.
