Bebe Rexha rushed off stage

According to New York Post, while Rexha was performing on stage, someone threw a phone that hit her just below her left eye, as seen in a video captured by a fan..

The vocalist then turned away from the crowd and fell to her knees in pain as crew members rushed to help.

Video of the incident showed the phone hitting Rexha in the upper left cheek, right below her eye.

The show was halted as Rexha was rushed offstage.

Police arrest phone thrower

New York Post reported that police arrested the man who reportedly threw his phone at Bebe Rexha, injuring her face and requiring stitches.

Nicolas Malvagna, a 27-year-old from Manalapan, New Jersey, faces a felony assault charge for using his cell as a weapon.

He is in police custody and will appear in court later on Monday, ABC7NY said.

Social media videos showed the Grammy-nominated singer holding her cheek as fans cheered for her.

Her supporters took to Twitter to show their solidarity with the songwriter, with many criticizing the unwarranted assault.

Meanwhile, popular Nigerian website Legit.ng reported that the trend of people brightening their lip colour has continued to trend on social media and one particular clip has got people talking. In the video, a man is seen showing his lips which were dark before the procedure which saw the colour change.

The procedure carried out by a student of the beautician sees him with much brighter and glossier lips. Some internet users pointed out that what was seen at the end of the video was not the final look, adding that it would look more natural with time as he healed.
