English television personality and record executive Simon Cowell has signed a mega-money deal with Channel 5 ahead of the return of X Factor next year.

Big money deal

According to Daily Star, the X Factor boss is believed to have penned the big-money deal with the TV station's bosses for the show that will grace TV screens in 2023 after five years off the air.

“As soon as X-Factor was up for grabs, there was interest from a number of the networks. X-Factor is one of the most iconic shows in TV history, so it’s no surprise lots of channels were keen. The production company had their pick. After a lot of meetings, execs decided to go with Channel 5.”

On Sunday, June 26, popular Kenyan website, TUKO.co.ke reported that reality TV series X Factor's boss Simon Cowell is in talks to make the show come back after almost half a decade off-air.

Simon is said to have penned a 'big money' deal with a production company after top-secret talks.

The show revolves around contestants competing against each other to impress the judges and the voting audience with their musical talent.

The most impressive of the contestants are awarded hugely coveted prize money and a record contract.

Daily Mail reported Cowell had plans to revive the singing contest with a new series in 2023.

The much-loved ITV singing talent show fronted by the 62-year-old music mogul Cowell, 62, hasn't been broadcast for close to five years.

In the report of Daily Star, an entertainment industry source is quoted as saying:

“It has been decided that the time is right to bring X Factor back. It’s really exciting. Everyone who will be working on the new series can’t wait to get started.”

The source added that although progress is still at an early stage, the wheels are definitely in motion and production is expected to begin in 2023.
