After finding him absent, the zonal chief engineer wrote Singha showcause notice to explain why he was not at his station in time for the audit.

A "Show Cause" is a common letter in workplaces where employees are asked to respond by giving legitimate reasons for their repeated mistakes.

"On 14.07.2023, at 09:45 in the morning, an inspection was conducted at your office. It was found that on the mentioned date and time, your signature was missing from the attendance register of your office, indicating your absence. Please clarify the reason," read the letter, as reported by Times Now.

Singh's bold reply to boss

Instead of offering a traditional apology or explanation as many would have expected, the employee took a defiant stance.

In the bold reply that has become the subject of discussion on social media, Singh replied that he came to work late because his boss, too, doesn't keep time.

"You yourself never come on time, that’s why I also do not come on time. Even today, the Zonal Chief Engineer has come late,” read part of the letter.

Singh, who has been working in the Electricity Department in Kota for the last four years maintained that he had "given the correct answer.”

Bairwa disclosed that 60 members of staff were not at their workstations when he conducted the surprise inspection, prompting him to issue Showcause notices to all.

Photos of the letter Singh wrote in response to his boss were shared on different social media platforms, raising questions about the company's work ethics.
