Turin - A couple is counting their blessings after they survived separate plane crashes on the same day.
Stefano Pirilli, 30, was unhurt after the ordeal, while his 22-year-old partner Antonietta Demasi, a student, was slightly hurt when her plane hit the ground.t came down.
A report by the Daily Mail disclosed that the couple decided to take separate aeroplanes on a lunch date with friends when the one in a million-coincidence happened.
Pirilli's two-seater Tecnam P92 Echo Super crashed at San Gillio after encountering difficulties, while Demasi's plane crashed 40 kilometres away in Busano.
Medics attending to Demasi said she had pelvic injuries while the pilot of her plane was treated for a head wound.
Prilli, an Energy consultant, was unscathed, while his friend and pilot reportedly suffered slight injuries.
What were Stefano's remarks after the crash?
A car fanatic, Stefano could not help but feel sorry for her fiance, disclosing that this was her first time on an aeroplane.
He explained that the day started well, and nobody would have thought of it ending in chaos, concluding they were fortunate.
"We are fortunate that we weren't killed, and our thoughts are with the pilots who were injured. I just want my girlfriend and the pilot to get better, nothing else matters. Sunday was a perfect day for flying blue skies, sunshine and not a cloud, it was the perfect way to have some fun in in the air," he said.
Stefano revealed that all was well until the weather changed, and mist started to come up, affecting the pilot's visibility.
He explained that he was able to pull himself out of the wreckage alongside his pilot friend.
