GFA President gets GH¢ 12,000 as monthly salary; GH¢1,600 as sitting allowance

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) ordinary congress held on Tuesday, September 1, 2020, has agreed on GH¢12,000 as monthly allowance for the Association’s president, Kurt Okraku.
The meeting also agreed on GH¢1,600 as a sitting allowance for the president.
According to a news report by Citinewsroom.com, the new allowances are double what the previous administrators of Ghana football received.

The Association’s Ordinary Congress also agreed that the Vice President of the Association will receive GH¢7,000 as a monthly salary and GH¢1,400 sitting allowance.
The other executive members will receive GH¢4,000 every month and GH¢1,300 at every sitting.
The GFA Congress also agreed on the proposed travel allowances suggested.
The GFA President will take home $500 per day as feeding and travel allowance on all international travels and GH¢600 on domestic assignments.
His deputy will receive $400 per day on international travel and GH¢500 on domestic assignments.
Other executive members will receive $300 per day on international travel and GH¢400 on domestic assignments.
According to Citinewsroom.com, the new rates were met with some criticisms at the ordinary congress.

The likes of Alhaji Grunsah, King Faisal's bankroller opined that the money was too much.
“The money is too much. Imagine in a month they hold two meetings, how much is that?” Grusah is quoted as saying.
