Bruno Fernandes' red card overturned

Fernandes has now received a boost, although late, after the FA overturned his red card decision. Had the red card stood, the Portuguese international would have been suspended for United's next three Premier League assignments against Aston Villa, Brentford and West Ham.

"Bruno Fernandes will be available for Manchester United's next three games following a successful claim of wrongful dismissal."

How FA handled Bruno Fernandes' case

The FA has clear guidelines on how players and clubs can file for claims of wrongful dismissals.

"A Claim for Wrongful Dismissal is a Claim that the Referee made an obvious error in sending the player off and not what the referee submits as his report. A Claim will only be successful where the club/player have demonstrated the Referee made an obvious error in dismissing the player," reads part of the rules.

Speaking after the game, Fernandes was adamant that Kavanagh had made a mistake.

"It was never a red card; that is my view. I agree that it is a foul… yellow card? I can accept, but it is never a foul worth a red card."

Coaches who could replace Erik ten Hag

After the Tottenham result, YEN.com.gh listed four coaches who could take Erik ten Hag's place if Man United decides to fire him.

First-team coach Ruud van Nistelrooy is the leading candidate alongside former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel, who is jobless.
