Mohammed Kudus is yet to hit a key milestone since the start of the 2025/26 season, with the Tottenham Hotspur star hoping to end the dry spell in the upcoming World Cup 2026 qualifiers.
Ghana will lock horns with Chad in N'Djamena on Thursday, September 4, during Matchday seven of the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, with the Black Stars determined to book their spot at next year’s global showpiece in North America.

The Black Stars will do battle against Mali four days later at the Accra Sports Stadium, as victories in these encounters would leave Ghana on the brink of sealing qualification for the FIFA World Cup, with 13 teams already qualified so far.
Otto Addo's men recorded excellent performances to secure two successive triumphs during the previous rounds of the qualifiers, spanking Chad 5-0 in Accra on March 21 of this year before dominating Madagascar 3-0 in Al Hoceima three days later.
The Black Stars are expected to carry their momentum into clashes with Les Sao of Chad and Mali’s Eagles, and much will depend on star players such as Thomas Partey, Antoine Semenyo—arguably Ghana's best player at the moment—as well as Mohammed Kudus rising to the occasion.

Kudus' 4-game goal drought
The former Ajax winger signed for Tottenham Hotspur from West Ham this summer in a reported £55 million transfer, according to Goal. However, despite impressing in his first four competitive matches, the once prolific attacking midfielder Mohammed Kudus is yet to get off the mark at Spurs.
As reported by Transfermarkt stats, the 24-year-old, who racked up 18 goals in 2023/24 and five last season, has tallied two assists so far this season, with his lack of goals now raising major concerns for him personally, as well as for Spurs and the Ghana national team.
In total, Kudus has accumulated 340 minutes across those four starts — featuring against Paris Saint-Germain in the Super Cup, and Burnley, Manchester City, and Bournemouth in the Premier League.
Today’s game places huge value on wingers whose impact is, to a great extent, measured by the goals and assists they produce. It is against this backdrop that Mohammed Kudus needs to start improving his offensive output.
The good news is that the fixtures against Chad and Mali may have arrived at the perfect time for Kudus, who needed an international outing to break his 14-game goal drought with a strike against Madagascar in Ghana’s 3-0 World Cup qualifying win on March 24.
