Semenyo enjoyed a standout 2023/24 season with 13 goals and seven assists and has carried that form into the new campaign, already recording six goals and three assists.

The 25-year-old has reached new heights since penning a five-year contract extension in July, and it’s no surprise that his performances have caught the attention of England’s top sides.

Tottenham getting serious about signing Semenyo?

According to a report from TEAMtalk, Spurs are currently the club most interested in signing the Ghanaian forward but are carefully assessing the level of competition before submitting a formal bid.

With Bournemouth under no pressure to sell, the Cherries are expected to demand around £100 million for their star man, though a more realistic valuation is believed to be closer to £75 million.

Aston Villa and both Manchester clubs are also monitoring Semenyo’s situation, but Spurs could be the first to make a concrete move, especially after the Lewis family injected £100 million of fresh capital into the club.

Despite Thomas Frank already boasting a wealth of attacking options — including Xavi Simons, Dejan Kulusevski, Wilson Odobert, James Maddison, Mohammed Kudus, and Brennan Johnson — the Tottenham manager is reportedly keen on adding another versatile forward like Semenyo, who can operate effectively on both wings.

Semenyo backed to join Kudus at Tottenham

UK-based Ghanaian football pundit, Kofo Esikyire, believes a move to Tottenham Hotspur would be the best career choice for Antoine Semenyo, especially with his compatriot Mohammed Kudus already thriving there.

According to Esikyire, playing for Spurs comes with “less pressure and more freedom” compared to joining clubs like Manchester United, Liverpool, or Chelsea.

“Tottenham is the best option for Semenyo right now,” Esikyire told YEN.com.gh. “There isn’t massive pressure playing for Spurs, unlike at Manchester United, Liverpool, or Chelsea, where expectations are always sky-high.”

He further explained that Tottenham’s current squad setup could allow Semenyo to make an instant impact.

“Spurs don’t really have a natural left winger, so Semenyo could slot in perfectly,” he added. “With Kudus already there, the two could form a deadly duo, something like what Rodrygo and Vinicius Jr. has done for Real Madrid.”

Could Liverpool move for Semenyo next summer?

As for Liverpool, a potential move for Semenyo next summer cannot be ruled out.

His rapid development and blistering start to the new season make it increasingly likely that a Champions League side will table a big-money offer soon.

Per Sportsmole, Liverpool are said to be considering a move, with sporting director Richard Hughes known to be a long-time admirer, having originally signed Semenyo during his time at Bournemouth.

The Reds’ interest might surprise some, especially after spending over £300 million on attacking signings such as Alexander Isak, Florian Wirtz, and Hugo Ekitike to strengthen their frontline.

However, with Mohamed Salah’s long-term future uncertain, Liverpool are already planning ahead for a potential successor.

Semenyo’s profile fits that vision, although the Premier League champions are also reportedly maintaining their interest in Bayern Munich’s talented winger Michael Olise.
