"During our normal routine checkup the scans showed we were expecting not one child but three kids," the engineer said in an interview with his company, Kenya Airways.
Since then, Momanyi and his lover lived expecting they would have triplets at the time of delivery.
Another baby
It did not occur to them that there would be an additional member when the due date arrived.
"When they were winding up the cesarian operation, one of the nurses discovered that there was some movement in the womb," Momanyi said.
His wife added:
"The nurse said there's another baby. So that's how we got to know our miracle baby."
The lovely couple welcomed their first to fourth born in Gianna, Nyangi, Giovanni and Manuel.
Busy day
Momanyi, who has worked in Kenya Airways for six years, said his typical day was a full-time job when he went home.
"Having four kids around you running here and there, feeding them, taking them out, and showing them around is quite a busy day for me," Momanyi whose family resides in Nakuru said.
He added that he had to make time to visit the family in Nakuru more often when he was not on shift.
High expenses
Momanyi observed that their family budget had shot up because of the members and the economic effect.
"The expenses have gone to the roof so we had to adjust and even put some projects on hold so that we can be able to cater for this big family," he reckoned.
