If you are asked to name any cemetery you know in Accra, no doubt the Osu, La and Awudome cemeteries will readily come to mind.

However, somewhere in East Legon there is a modern cemetery that is catching the attention of many people.

It is rare to see cemeteries being admired, but the Gethsemane Memorial garden is a burial ground of a unique sort.

The 5-acre cemetery constructed in 2012, is a stunning example of the urban cemetery, with a great view, beautifully manicured grounds looking more like a beautiful city park than a graveyard.

Unlike the other cemeteries where you will easily find filth and rubbish scattered all around, the Gethsemane Memorial garden is the neatest ground you would ever come across.

The cemetery is green, with flowers and shady trees decorating the entire ground and its surroundings.

Perhaps, that is why only the rich or well-to-do persons are privileged to be buried on such a ground.

The monies charged for a body to be buried at the Gethsemane Memorial garden are sums that will make you tremble.
