Amissah-Arthur celebrated and congratulated his wife over her new book 2 days to his death

- Late Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur celebrated his wife’s achievement 2 days to his unfortunate demise

- The former vice president was reported dead at the 37 Military Hospital

News reaching YEN.com.gh has indicated the former vice president under the John Mahama-led government, His Excellency Mr. Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur, has passed on to glory.

Reports indicated that the former statesman was rushed to the 37 Military hospital after he collapsed at the Air force Gym on Friday, June 29.

The former Veep was confirmed dead at the health facility and it has sparked nationwide grief with many people taking to social media to commiserate with the bereaved family.

However, the last social media post made by the late Mr. Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur has got many people even more heartbroken since it was in celebration of his wife, Mrs. Matilda Amissah-Arthur on the launch of her book.

The book, which is titled, “The wife of the Vice President: My Journey” was launched on June 27, 2018 at the Auditorium of the Ghana Academy of Arts and Sciences in Accra.

The late vice President took to his Twitter and Facebook handles to congratulate his wife upon the completion and launching of her book.

His post on twitter dated June 27, 2018 read, “Book launch. Congrats Matilda.”

Before becoming vice president in August 2012, Mr. Amissah-Arthur was Governor of the Bank of Ghana from 2009 to 2012.

From 1983 to 1986, he served as a special assistant to the Secretary of Finance and Economic Planning, Kwesi Botchwey under the Provisional National Defense Council (PNDC) government.

He also served as the Deputy Secretary for Finance in the PNDC government from February 1986 to March 1993.

From April 1993, he continued as the Deputy Minister for Finance in the under the Fourth Republic’s first government until March 1997.

Mr. Amissah-Arthur was appointed as Governor of the Bank of Ghana in October 2009 by then-President John Atta Mills.

He later became Vice-President of Ghana following the death of Atta Mills.
