Aseidu Nketia calls on the IGP to resign

- NDC's general secretary, General Mosquito, has called on the IGP, David Asante Appeatu, to resign

- According to him, the head of the police service has become a preacher

- He added that the IGP is expected to clamp down on crime but he had failed to do that

The general secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has called on the Inspector General of Police (IGP), David Asante-Appeatu, to resign.

He stated that the IGP has no control and has rather adopted the life of a preacher instead of a law enforcer.

“He has lost control of the system. Had it not been that there is a situation in the country, they moved men, ammunition and vehicles for an operation he says he knows nothing about, he must resign”, he insisted.

According to a report by Mynewsgh.com, Nketia, also known as General Mosquito, added that the head of the police service has adopted the life of a preacher and a radio host.

This, he explained by saying that Asante Appeatu has joined the bandwagon of politicians and merely making noise in Ghana.

In his opinion, the IGP is expected to take action to clamp down crime, but instead, he goes about preaching through press conferences, as though he was appointed to convert souls for Jesus Christ.

General Mosquito went on to say the IGP has lost control of the system, and that is the reason why police resources such as vehicles could be used without his knowledge.
