- The duo played for the Ghana Black Stars as midfielder and goalkeeper respectively

A throwback photo showing Ghana’s former Black Star Captain, Spehen Appiah, posing alongside the teams’ former goalkeeper Richard Kingson and a colleague has emerged online.

The highly impressive photo shows a much youthful Stephen Appiah and Richard Paul Franck Kingson in their active professional football careers.

Popular GJA Sports Journalist of the Year and Angel FM’s Saddick Adams shared the archival photo on social media.

Saddick Adams did not share details of the footballer who stood next to Richard Kingston on the left.

Captioning the photo, the manager of ABN’s Sports Department at Angel TV wrote: ''In 1996, Stephen Appiah (first from R) went for trials at Galatasary with Richard Kingston (middle).

Appiah was rejected. Barely 10 years later, he will return to the Turkish league as a super star with Fenernahce, with nearly 5,000 fans welcoming him at the Airport.’’

The archival image has generated nearly 2,000 reactions and comments as of the time of this publication.

In replying to the image shared by @SaddickAdams, @Kophisam wrote: ''But Obama i dey read your mind aa you want make menners talk about olele. Lol''

@Ransfordon said: ''Oba yet still name still reigns over here in Turke.''

Chairman then Olele is a grown man paaa ooo....I'd by then look at how Appiah looks smallish and olele grown I think he's like 50 now,''@kwamebiggs said.

Meanwhile, Stephen Leroy Appiah, who earned the moniker Tornado for his dexterity and skills on the football pitch is currently a retired footballer who played as a midfielder for Ghana national team.

He captained Ghana at their World Cup debut in 2006 and was a member of their squad for the 2010 World Cup.

While Richard Paul Franck Kingson aka ‘Olele’, is a Ghanaian former professional footballer who played as a goalkeeper. He currently serves as a goalkeepers' coach for the Ghana national football team.

In another story, YEN.com.gh reported that after nearly six decades of sharing each other’s company, a throwback photo showing then youthful John Agyekum Kufour and wife, Theresa, has surfaced online.

Ghana The beautiful throwback photo comes as the prominent pair prepare to celebrate almost six decades of marriage. Former president John Agyekum Kufour and the First Lady at the time looked much younger with unblemished hues and lovely dark skin tones.

While details of when and where the awe-inspiring image was captured was not highlighted, it is rapidly gaining traction online.
