Second marriages: Netizens share positive experiences of finding love again
- Everyone gets into a marriage with their eyes glued on 'till death do us part'
- Sometimes though, the union crumbles leaving in its wake bruised souls and bitter singles
- Those who brave the heartbreak and give marriage another chance seem to agree that the mistakes and lessons picked from the failed one guide the second to make it better and more peaceful
When two people fall in love and trust each other enough to get married, all eyes are usually on the 'till death us part' phrase.
Sometimes though, that does not happen as one, two, or three things come in between them and disorient the union, leaving in its wake bruised souls.
Most find it difficult to open their souls again to new interests, but the optimistic dust themselves and try again.
The risky bit with that choice is the danger of being exposed to yet another disappointment that will leave even more excruciating heartaches.
However, an online poll shows that the bigger percentage of those who have had a second chance at marriage find the going better.
This could be attributed to the fact that the failed marriage instilled in them vital lessons which guide their next choice of partner.
Phei Degal:
"I let go of my first marriage and I tell you no regret in my second marriage. I truly believe that God grants second chances and love conquers everything."
Kim Sounds:
"I begged that woman to come back she refused. My life became miserable after drinking for four good years thinking I would never find another. God is good enough I am now happily married to someone special."
Namuddu Allen Allen:
"My second marriage is better because the man l now have respects me a lot and cares a lot. l don't regret the marriage I am in now and thank God for the gift of this man."
Alex Thomas:
"In my second, glad I let go of the first. Finally, I can believe in true love and that indeed marriage works."
Colleta Mutoro:
"Have realized Kumbe there is true love out there. My second marriage is working well."
Peter Kirui:
"My first marriage was a circus. I blame myself for not letting go early. I wish I had met my second wife earlier. I would have been far."
Secondly, such people come back to the field with self-realisation and after working on their own weaknesses, which makes them better partners to whoever they end up with.
Overall, when one leaves an unhappy marriage and finds a better partner, it not only reinforces the saying that true love exists but also helps the individual heal from the scars of the past.
