President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo seems to be gearing up to making his dream of making Accra the cleanest city in Africa achievable.
To this length, the government has sent a delegation from the Accra Metropolitan Assembly (AMA) and Africa Environmental Sanitation Consult (AFESC) to Kigali Rwanda.
Together with the aforementioned institutions, some staff from Zoomlion are in Kigali to understudy the country’s waste management system.
The team from Ghana will also be learning good environmental and sanitation practices.
The visit will enable them to learn how their practices could be adopted by the Accra Metropolitan Assembly in order to make Accra and Ghana the cleanest city and country in Africa.

The delegation included some environmental and sanitation experts from AMA and AFESC and some selected journalists.
The AMA Metropolitan Chief Executive (MCE), Mohammed Adjei Sowah, and the MD of AFESC, Dr Abena Asomaning Antwi, are co-leaders of the delegation to Kigali.
In a report filed by Graphic.com.gh, the MCE for AMA, Sowah, explained that they are there to learn about their waste management system and the good sanitation practices to replicate in Ghana.
He expressed the hope that at the end of the visit, “we would have learned something that the city of Kigali is doing to establish their status as the cleanest city in Africa”.
In other news, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong, descended heavily on the #FixTheCountry campaigners, describing them as propagandist tools of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The maverick lawmaker, therefore, urged members of the governing New Patriotic Party to strongly challenge the narrative that the country is headed to the abyss under President Akufo-Addo.
According to him, the country has seen considerable progress under the stewardship of President Akufo-Addo, and that the president’s achievements need to be strongly and effectively communicated to the general public for their appreciation.
He, thus, urged the officials of the administration and the entire NPP fraternity to be very vocal in that regard.
