Joseph Addo: Man who never knew his dad meets him for 1st time in bus at Yendi after 19 years

- A merchant, Joseph Addo, has disclosed that he met his biological dad for the first time on a bus

- According to him, all previous efforts at meeting him through his mum were abortive

A mobile money vendor, Joseph Addo, has given a jaw-dropping narration about how he met his biological father for the first time after several attempts.

Speaking in an interview with DJ Nyaami of SVTV Africa, Addo revealed that he had never met his dad and all attempts to meet him through his mother proved futile.

However, a family friend told him to travel to Yendi in the northern region in Ghana, where his father worked.

''He was a bus driver who travelled to Yendi from the Volta region, Ghana. A family friend from my father's side told me to go to Yendi to wait for my father.''

"The bus I boarded was my father’s bus."

But Addo was not aware until he engaged a passenger to help him with directions.

''She asked where I was going. I told her who I was going to see and luckily my father overheard our conversation."

His father began asking questions about his family and where he came from, he told DJ Nyaami.

''He asked for my mother and grandparent's name too. That was when he realised I was his son. He was very happy to see me.''

Meanwhile, it was previously reported that former US President Barack Obama had stated that he didn't really know his father.

Obama’s dad left his mum when he was just two years old. The late scholar visited the former US president once and would occasionally converse with him through letters.

Obama, who met his father aged 10, said that the single visit greatly impacted his life. Thanks to the ex-president's dad, he received his first basketball and was introduced to the groove of Jazz music.
