Police officer in trouble for ‘insulting’ Akufo-Addo, Bawumia on Facebook; calls them 'sick'

A police officer has been interdicted for insulting President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, YEN.com.gh has gathered.

Corporal Frederick Kwaku Dzemeki, who is stationed at Prampram was arrested by the Tema Regional Police Command.

He reportedly insulted the president and the vice president, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia on social media.

Corporal Dzemeki, yanked invectives at the president and his vice during an online show hosted by maverick broadcaster, Captain Smart, Kasapafmonline reported citing police wireless message.

“Our leaders are very stupid and stubborn. They don’t reason at all. Ghana is sick. Number 1 is sick and number two too is sick,” the interdicted officer wrote in the comment section of the online show on Facebook.

Corporal Dzemeki was expected at the Regional Police headquarters today, Friday, May 28, 2021, at 1000Hrs.

Meanwhile, a court in Accra fined a 46-year-old driver GHS960 or in default, serve an eight-week jail term for destroying the fence wall of the president’s Nima residence.

Antaru Issaka was charged with careless and inconsiderate driving and causing damage. He was also slapped with the charges of driving without a license, use of a motor vehicle with an expired roadworthy certificate among others.

Isaaka pleaded guilty to all the charges, Ghana News Agency (GNA) reported. He was thus convicted on his own plea and sentenced by the court presided over by Ama Adomako Kwakye.

Isaaka, a mechanic was driving a Mercedes-Benz ML 320 with registration number GS 5885 Z when the incident happened on May 15, 2021.

The brake of the vehicle allegedly failed and to avoid hitting the vehicles in front of him, he veered off the road and rammed into the fence wall of the president’s house.

The accused was found to be an unlicensed driver during the investigation.

In other news, former Special Prosecutor, Martin Amidu, continues to take the Akufo-Addo administration’s to cleaners, describing it in his latest epistle as “irredeemably corrupt”.

He further accused the president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, of blackmailing some National Democratic Congress (NDC) Members of Parliament (MPs) with the double salary scandal.

This, according to him, was the reason why the opposition MPs passed all the president’s ministerial nominees, despite expressing grave dissatisfaction with some of them.
