Keep these documents at hand if you're driving on Ghana roads
If you don't want the Ghana Police to harass you or take a bribe from you, there are some particular documents you should always have in your car.
Most people might think that they can get pulled over in Ghana for driving recklessly, knocking someone off or missing a taillight.

Contrary to this belief, some determined Ghanaian cops, especially the corrupt ones, can pull you over for no apparent reason just to drill you over some things.
These clashes with them can usually drag on for terrifying LONG hours unless you decide to give in and offer them some bride.
But if you're as strong headed as we are and not ready to part with your cash in this economically challenging Ghana, here are the documents and certificates you should readily have at hand.
1. Driver's License
Do we even need to say this? You NEED a drivers' license to drive!!!

2. Road Worthiness Certificate
Just to prove that your car deserves to be on the streets. But these cops will never ask this of some rickety "trotros".
3. Vehicle Insurance Certificate
This sticker is usually visibly placed on the windshield. Just make sure it is up-to-date.

4. Proof of Ownership
Do you own the car? Some overzealous police can request this and with good reason too.
5. Vehicle License
Similar to the Driver's License, also provided by DVLA
And always remember this documents must always be updated - when and where they need to be - and not expired.
